Waltonville PreK 17-18 Openings Update

May 23, 2017

Waltonville has been notified that we need to show definite numbers to secure all of the openings we need to serve our Pre-K students.  The Pre-K program has 10 openings hanging in limbo and it will either be us or another district that will be alloted those spots.  If we lose them, they will be gone, and if we have students that need them they won't be allowed to attend at Waltonville.  Currently we have 32 students signed up, but we anticipate needing 40 spots.  If we do not get the additional 10, it is possible some will be turned away, or will have to attend at a different location.  Therefore, it critical that if you know ANYONE in the Waltonville School District who has a student who would like to attend Pre-K in the Fall, who will be 3-4 yrs. old by Sept. 1st....or who will turn 3 yrs. old sometime during the upcoming school year.....please communicate the following to them:

1.  Pre-K registration MUST be done at Hall School in Mt. Vernon (they control the dollars) on Wednesday, May 24th @ 9 a.m.-6 p.m.  or  Friday, May 26th @ 10 a.m.-3 p.m.

2.  If they have already filled out paperwork here at Waltonville, there are extra required components that MUST be completed before registration is complete.  These are a state requirement to secure the dollars to administer the Pre-K program.  This must be done at Hall School.

3.  If they have further questions, they can call Hall School in Mt. Vernon until June 2nd @ 244-8087

or Mt. Vernon District 80 Office @ 244-8080.

4.  If they absolutely cannot make the registration on May 24th or May 26th, registration may be completed at Waltonville's School registration on Aug. 3 from 12 p.m.-7 p.m.....however, we would like to show our numbers as soon as possible (hint: May 24th or 26th).

Waltonville Grade School thanks all who is helping to spread the word to help our Pre-K program thrive!

Thank-you!

Mrs. Waggoner, Principal
