Notice of Public Hearing:  The Waltonville Community Unit School District #1 School Board will hold a Public Hearing  on Thursday, July 25, 2019 at 6:15 p.m.  in the high school Ag room located at 804 W. Knob St.in Waltonville, IL.  The purpose of this hearing will be to receive public comment on a proposed waiver application to allow the district to waive tuition fees for children of full-time . . .

Queen Sami McCowen and King Jacob Tucker

Congratulations to Prom Queen Sami McCowen and King Jacob Tucker!

Waltonville High School held its 2019 Prom on April 27th at Pocket Full of Sunshine in Mt. Vernon.  Sami McCowen and Jacob Tucker were crowned Queen and King by retiring Queen Shelby Coggins and King Jordan Chesney.  Congrats to Queen Sami and King Jacob and all of the 2019 Court attendants!  Prom is sponsored by Mrs. Melissa Szopinski and Mrs. Mary Minor. Nealy Lewis advances to the Academic Challenge State Competition in English!

Congratulations to Nealy Lewis for advancing to the State Academic Challenge in English! Nealy competed at the regional at Rend Lake College, which qualified her to compete at the Sectional level. She attended the Sectional competition at SIUC on March 13th, placing 2nd again among her peers. Nealy will compete at Eastern Illinois University at for the State Competition in April.
